The IPL 13th edition of Indian Premier League tournament will be starting on March 29th 2020 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The first IPL cricket match will be played between the CSK and the MI IPL teams by 8 PM IST local time. In this season, most of the IPL T20 matches will be played by 8 PM, there are very few double-header matches which will have the first match by 4 PM.
As mentioned above, this 2020 IPL season is going to have only 5 double-headers matches. The first double-headers today IPL Match will be on 5th April 2020. The first IPL match of that double-headers will be between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indians teams at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The second game on the same day will be played between the Rajasthan Royals Vs Delhi Capitals at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. This match will be played on the same evening at 8 PM.
There will be 56 IPL league cricket matches played totally in this IPL 13th season. Each and every IPL team will play two T20 cricket matches against each team. One match will be played in the home ground and the other game will be played in the opponent team’s home ground. Very few matches will be played in the neutral cricket venues. After 56 matches the top 4 teams will be qualified for the next rounds of IPL Matches.
For each and every IPL match played, the winning team will be given 2 points, the losing team get nothing. If the match is tied or abandoned, the points will be shared as 1-1 for both the team. After all the league stage matches, the points will be calculated. The top 4 IPL teams which have the more IPL points will be qualified for the IPL qualifier rounds. If the teams are having equal points, then the ranking will be calculated on the net run rate. The IPL 13th edition of the points table will be updated daily once the IPL match is finished. Along with match points table, there also purple cap (for bowlers), orange cap (for batsmen) and fair play awards (for the IPL cricket teams) points will be given.
The top two IPL teams will play the Qualifier 1 and the Qualifier 2 will be played between the 3rd and the 4th place team. The winner of Qualifier 1 will be qualified directly for the IPL final 2020. The loser of Qualifier 1 will play an IPL eliminator round against the winner of IPL Qualifier 2. The winner of IPL eliminator will play the final match with the winner of Qualifier 1. The IPL final will be played at Mumbai this time. The top two IPL teams will play the Qualifier 1 and the Qualifier 2 will be played between the 3rd and the 4th place team. The winner of Qualifier 1 will be qualified directly for the IPL final 2020. The loser of Qualifier 1 will play an IPL eliminator round against the winner of IPL Qualifier 2. The winner of IPL eliminator will play the final match with the winner of Qualifier 1. The IPL final will be played at Mumbai this time.
The Mumbai Indians won the IPL titles four times, which is the maximum of any IPL team. The first-ever IPL tournament was played in 2008, in this season Rajasthan Royals won the title by winning the IPL final against the Chennai Super Kings. In 2009, the Deccan Chargers won the title. In the third and the fourth IPL season CSK have won the trophy. The Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team have won the title in 2012 and 2014. The Mumbai Indians became the IPL champion four times in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. The Sunrisers Hyderabad have won the title in 2016 and the Chennai Super Kings won the 2018 IPL title.
